As T-119 plans to depart for summer camp on Friday, June 16, it would be nice for your son to receive a care package or letter during the week we are there. Cookies or candies or a letter or money to spend at the camp store always brighten our scout’s attitude. It is a good idea to send the letter/package a few days before we leave Louisiana. A word of encouragement and hope he is enjoying this new experience goes a long way.  

Hey troop, for those of you who missed getting the weekly troop email blasts or tried to access the website in recent weeks you'll be happy to know that the site has been restored.  For those that are new, this site https://mandeville119.mytroop.us/ is where we keep our troop calendar, roster, and post announcements.

The merit badge program plays a major role in the scouting advancement program and participation can begin as soon as a scout registers with a troop. Each scout can explore topics from American Business to Woodworking as they have interest. Mr Randy has been working to make sure our troop has opportunities to explore them all. LSU merit badge day next week and summer camp are both great ways to earn badges. We’ve also started having merit badge councilors periodically work on badges on Tuesday nights before meeting, the next one will be announced soon.  

Hey Troop 119, there will be voting at st Timothy Tuesday so we will likely need to change the meeting location. An email will come out as soon as we have an update. 

At our scout meetings in September we will be practicing our outdoor cooking skills. Scouts should bring their mess kits (plate, bowl, cup, utensils) and their appetites.

Its time to sign up for summer camp!  Buck Toms has merit badge selection open already and spots are starting to fill up.  Please turn in first, second and third choices for each of the 5 periods along with your $100 deposit by Tuesday at the PLC meeting.  The calendar event has the leaders guide with merit badge information and a template for MB selection with an example you're welcome to use if it helps.  If you need any help choosing you can reach out to Chris, Dave or Andrea.
